Pens and Purpose: A Humanista Story
In a world full of noise, pressure, and endless expectations, it becomes easy to lose ourselves. But there are people who choose to listen deeply, speak with purpose, and understand with compassion. They are called Humanistas—students of life, storytellers of truth, and voices of humanity. This is my story, my journey, and my purpose as a HUMSS student.
Being a HUMSS student is not just about choosing a strand—it is a commitment to understanding people and society. HUMSS is not just a classroom it is a place where ideas breathe, emotions are heard, and voices matter. We study literature, communication, philosophy, history, and culture—not just to learn facts, but to understand the world and the people who live in it.
Our journey is not perfect. There are days when the lessons are heavy, deadlines pile up, and life becomes overwhelming. But through every struggle, there is growth. HUMSS teaches us more than academics—it teaches us character. It teaches us confidence, empathy, and courage. We do not just prepare for careers we prepare for life. We are builders of meaning. We are seekers of truth. We are Humanistas—with pens as our tools and purpose as our guide.
Learning is not just about answering questions—it is about discovering who we are and who we can become.
Voices of Hope: Mental Health Matters
Mental health is a silent battle many people face—but few have the courage to talk about. In schools, stress and pressure often become normal, and students silently carry emotional pain behind forced smiles. Many feel alone, misunderstood, or afraid to speak up. That silence can be heavy—and dangerous.
That is why my advocacy is “Voices of Hope: Mental Health Matters.”
Mental health is not a weakness, and asking for help is not a sign of failure—it is a sign of strength. No one should feel ashamed for struggling. No one should be judged for feeling tired, anxious, or lost. We are all fighting battles the world may never see. And that is why we must choose kindness—always.
As a HUMSS student, I believe in the power of connection. I believe that listening can heal, that words can save, and that compassion can change lives. We may not be able to solve every struggle—but we can make sure no one fights alone.
Together, let us:
• Break the stigma around mental health
• Encourage open conversations
• Support those who feel alone
• Choose understanding over judgment
• Be a voice of hope to others
Sometimes, the most powerful words are simple:
“I’m here.”
“You matter.”
“You are not alone.”
In the end, being a Humanista is not just about what we study—it is about who we choose to be. We choose purpose. We choose courage. We choose humanity.
This is my story. This is my voice. This is my purpose.
